FAQ

Your questions, our answers.

Qrop or Brinjel: what is the difference?
QROP is a free open-source piece of software you install on your PC, developed by Andrée Hoeraeu in collaboration with Atelier Paysans. Brinjel is its version 2: fully online, more stable, with more features. Brinjel costs €5/month to support ongoing development. Plans are exportable and compatible between the two — you can use Qrop for years before switching to Brinjel without difficulty.
Why train on this software?
Sylvain shares: "For me, Qrop / Brinjel has become an indispensable piece of software. It saves time, makes us more efficient and makes the daily planning and task management much easier. There was clearly a before and an after."
What computer setup do I need?
For Qrop: a computer (Windows, Mac or Linux) with Java installed. For Brinjel: any recent browser and an internet connection, on a desktop or a tablet. No specific hardware required.
What are the technical requirements?
You need a computer with an operating system to run QROP. Minimum versions: Windows 7, macOS 10.13 or Linux appImage64. BRINJEL is fully cloud-based, so the only requirement is an internet connection.
Do I need a Brinjel subscription?
A Brinjel subscription is not required to take the course — you can train on Qrop and use Qrop day to day. If you decide to move to Brinjel later on, you can subscribe at that point.
Is my data secure on Brinjel?
Yes. Brinjel stores your data on EU-based servers and is GDPR-compliant. You remain the owner of your data and can export it at any time as Excel or CSV.
What happens if I cancel my Brinjel subscription?
You can export all of your data (catalogues, plans, harvests) to Excel before cancelling. You can then re-import these files into Qrop (free and open-source) to keep working with them locally.
